START A HOLIDAY TRADITION
Start a new tradition in your neighborhood like we did. Every Christmas Eve we line our sidewalk with luminaries to light the way for Santa. Once your neighbors see how lovely they are the'll want to join in next year and before you know it, the entire street is lit up!
HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE
Thanks to all of you my open house was a huge success! There was a constant flow of customers both days.I'm looking forward to hosting our open house in June so you can enjoy the ambiance of the shop and our outdoor setting. Thank you again for your continued generous support.
HOLIDAY SAFETY TIPS
- Avoid walking alone to and from your vehicles in shopping center parking lots
- When walking down the aisles in the parking lots have your purse on the opposite side of where the cars are driving.
- Gift Cards- BE CAREFUL- Many gift cards carry expensive activation fees and expiration dates. Always ask the clerk about these issues before you make the purchase. Some reputable stores that do not have these problems are; Borders, Circuit City, JC Penny, Loew's, Sears, Old Navy, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Petsmart, to name a few.
DECEMBER'S RECIPE
"NIGHTY-NIGHTS"
- Two large egg whites
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 generous cup of mini-chocolate morsels
Line two cookie sheets with aluminum foil. The foil is necessary because if the cookie sheets have any grease at all on them, the recipe will not work.
Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees
In a small bowl, using a mixer, beat the egg whites until foamy. Gradually add sugar, mixing at high speed. Continue beating until meringue is very stiff. Fold in chocolate morsals. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto prepared cookie sheets. Place sheets in oven and turn oven off. Let sit in oven overnight. In the morning the confections will be crisp and dry. Makes about two dozen "cookies."
