Where: Calhoun County Fairgrounds in Marshall
Stop by and see us at our tent. We will be there the ENTIRE 24 hours! We need "walkers" to represent our team throughout the event. Please call or email to sign up for any amount of time you can spare.

Bowls For The Cure Fundraiser
Please join us in the Homer High School Cafeteria on Wednesday, May 21st, 3:30-7:00 to decorate "bowls for the cure." Our fantastic "GAP" coordinator, Holly Blashfield, has made arrangements with the "Firehouse" in Marshall to provide bowls this year for us to paint. There is no charge to paint the bowls. After we design them, the "Firehouse" will glaze and fire them for us. The bowls will be available June 7th at "Daphne's" or at our site at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds in Marshall during the relay event in July. There is a minimum $10.00 donation with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society (ACS).
Every year we sell out- many people like to add a new bowl to their collection.
LUMINARIES
For those of you who are not familiar with the luminary program, it is a way to honor someone who has lost the battle against cancer or who is a cancer survivor. The luminaries line the entire walking path at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds in Marshall on Friday evening, July 18th at 9:00pm and remain lit throughout the night. It is truly a spectacular site. The luminaries are available for a $10.00 donation with all proceeds going to the "American Cancer society." SURVIVOR DINNER
On Wednesday, July 16th, Relay for Life will sponsor a dinner to honor cancer survivors. We would like as many survivors as possible to attend. It's a wonderful and emotional evening of hope. There will be delicious food, inspirational speakers and door prizes.
If you know of any survivors who would like to attend, could you please call or email me with their names, and addresses and we will make sure they receive an invitation. I need this information no later than Wednesday, May 28th!!!

MAY-JUNE RECIPE
ANTIPASTO SQUARES
(everyone will be asking for more)

1/4 pound each of salami, sliced pepperoni, domestic ham, American cheese and provolone cheese

one 12 oz. jar roasted red peppers

one small can of sliced black olives
-
3 eggs
-
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
-
1/4 tsp. black pepper
-
2 cans crescent rolls
Lightly spray 9x13 pan with "Pam." Cover bottom of pan with one can of the crescent rolls. Layer meat and cheese. Beat the two eggs and mix in spices. Pour over the top.
Drain peppers and place on top of the meat, cheese and egg layers. Spread olives over mixture and layer the second can of crescent rolls. Brush with egg yoke.
Cover with foil and bake at 350 for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for 30 minutes, or longer. Cool in the pan.
Cut into squares and keep refrigerated until one hour before serving. Serve at room temperature.

Stop Junk Mail
Hard to imagine, but it's estimated 100 million trees are used to produce junk mail for just one year. If you'd like to stop it, we can help.
It's called the Stop Junk Mail Kit developed by a Ferndale company. In it you'll find five easy steps to follow that should eliminate 90 percent of your junk mail.
There are postcards for you to send out, numbers to call, and websites to visit. The kit costs $17.50.
For every kit sold, five trees will be planted on your behalf.
After you fill out the forms it takes a couple months for your junk mail to stop decreasing and within 5 months or so, 90 percent of your junk mail should stop.
