Due to the popularity of last year's Holiday Open House, we have decided to expand it. Please join us for delicious appetizers and scrumptious desserts on both days.
On Friday evening, from 6-9 pm Jerry, attired in his tuxedo, will be offering special libations.
- Friday, November 17th 10:00am - 9:00pm
- Saturday, November 18th 10:00am - 4:00pm
RELAY FOR LIFE UPDATE
Well, the big news for this newsletter is our "Team Daphne" raised over $12,000 for the American Cancer Societies "Relay For Life" that took place in Marshall, Michigan on Friday and Saturday, July 21st and 22nd!! Of all the teams that participated, we finished FIRST, and that includes corporate sponsored teams! Thanks to our generous supporters we were able to "blow" past last years totals. We had some great raffle prizes, including an autographed Stevie Yzerman puck and a collage featuring Jack Nicklaus' last British Open including an autographed five-pound note by Jack, plus many more wonderful items.Our team has some exciting new ideas already in the planning stages for next year.
Our October Recipe
SUN DRIED TOMATO DIP
This takes virtually a minute to make and can be served with crackers, chips, and fresh vegetables.
- 1/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained and chopped (8 tomatoes)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup good mayonnaise
- 10 - 15 dashes Tabasco sauce
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 3/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 2 scallions thinly sliced white and green parts
Puree the tomatoes, cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, Tabasco sauce, salt and pepper in a food processor fitted with a metal blade. Add scallions and pulse twice. Serve at room temperature.
